Edward Mendelson Elected to American Philosophical Society
Prof. Edward Mendelson has been elected to join the American Philosophy Society. This April, the Society inducted thirty-two new members across Math and Physical Science; Biological Sciences; Social Sciences; the Humanities; and the Arts, Professions, and Leaders in Public and Private Affairs. Prof. Mendelson is the latest of four faculty to have received the honor, which includes Andrew Delbanco, Gayatri Spivak, and Edward Said.
The American Philosophical Society is an eminent scholarly organization of international reputation, the American Philosophical Society promotes useful knowledge in the sciences and humanities through excellence in scholarly research, professional meetings, support of young scholars, publications, library resources, a museum and community outreach. This country's first learned society, the APS has played an important role in American cultural and intellectual life for over 250 years.
