SAMPLE READING LIST: Caribbean Fiction by Women

RATIONALE

This field focuses upon Caribbean women's literary discourse in the second half of the twentieth century. The list concentrates primarily on those writers from the English and French speaking Caribbean. Attention will be paid to each work in terms of its literary, historical and political contexts with specific focus on the articulation of racial, sexual, gender, ethnic, class and national identities.
