Biography
Kaagni is a sixth-year PhD Candidate in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. As a scholar of Postcolonial Studies, her dissertation examines the relationship between the family and the postcolonial state in late twentieth century India, crystallized through the term "family planning," as mediated by genre in Anglophone novels and popular film. Her other interests include social reproduction, gendered and reproductive labour, abolition, and global histories of neoliberalism.
