Biography
Levi Hord is a Ph.D. student in the Department of English & Comparative Literature at Columbia, specializing in transgender & queer theory. Their academic work focuses on changes in gender identity claims post-2010, specifically the rise of nonbinary and how taxonomical shifts change cultural conversations around transness.
Before coming to Columbia, Levi completed an MSt in Gender Studies and an MSc in the History of Medicine at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar (Ontario & Wadham 2018). Their writing can be found in Sexualities, Politics/Letters, and the Oxonian Review.
