Jenna Alexis SchoenTeaching Scholar 2018-2019English & Comparative Literature
Jenna Schoen is PhD candidate in English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. Her dissertation, "Romance Across Medieval Literature," looks at the influence of popular romance on vernacular religious poetry in late medieval England. She argues that religious poetry uses romance not only to dramatize and familiarize its content for a wider audience, but also to think through and complicate theological problems at the heart of these poems. She holds a B.A. from Tufts University and M.A. from Columbia University.
