Zoë E. Pollak's dissertation, "The Work of Art: Honoring the Overlooked in Northeastern American Nature Poetry of the Long Nineteenth Century," examines the interplay of aesthetics and ethics in 19th-century northeastern and pre-Harlem Renaissance nature poetry. She works in curatorial and special collections librarianship and her academic and creative writing has appeared or is forthcoming in AGNI, The American Sonnet (University of Iowa Press, 2023), Callaloo, ELH, ESQ, The Hopkins Review, Now Comes Good Sailing: Writers Reflect on Henry David Thoreau (Princeton University Press, 2021), and Women’s Studies.
