I hope you can join us next Wednesday from 5:30-7pm in 420 Hamilton Hall to celebrate our very own Matt Sandler's book, The Black Romantic Revolution: Abolitionist Poets at the End of Slavery, which will be out from Verso in October! In addition to talking about the book itself, we will learn about and discuss its conditions of possibility: how it came out of Matt's time as a graduate student in English and Comparative Literature at Columbia, and how it fits into the larger story of his experience of and approach to the profession, first as an adjunct and then as an administrator
