Denise Cruz is the winner of the 2021 Mark Van Doren Award for Teaching. The award is given annually to a faculty member for their humanity, devotion to truth. and inspiring leadership. Cruz is also a winner of the 2021 Presidential Awards for Outstanding Teaching, established to recognize and celebrate faculty who exemplify excellence in teaching.
