Ransford Professor of English and Comparative Literature, and Professor of African American and African Diaspora Studies, has won the Jazz Journalist Association’s Book of the Year Award about Jazz: History, Criticism, and Culture for In Search of a Beautiful Freedom: New and Selected Essays (Norton).
