Joseph Slaughter Appointed Director of the Institute for the Study of Human Rights

Professor Joseph Slaughter has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the Institute for the Study of Human Rights (ISHR).
ISHR is committed to its three core goals of providing interdisciplinary human rights education to Columbia students, fostering innovative academic research, and offering its expertise in capacity building to human rights leaders, organizations, and universities around the world.
Before serving as the Director of ISHR, Slaughter was the Abigail R. Cohen Fellow at the Institute for Ideas and Imagination at the Columbia Global Center | Paris.
On September 30, 2022, Slaughter will be joining the Center for Palestine Studies and the Institute for the Study of Human Rights for a conversation with Maurice Ebileeni in celebration of Ebileeni’s new work Being There, Being Here.
